Our KAHĀ 2026 Artist in Residence
Meet our Artist in Residence
Brianna Kalamaho'omanea is an Illustrator/Graphic Designer based in the greater Los Angeles area. Her passion for art is rooted deeply in her faith in God, her wonder at the created world, and the beautiful people and cultures within it. She aims to create art that inspires the same deep wonder and heart in her audience. She has shared culture and danced in the Polynesian community for about 12 years, having practiced Tahitian dance with Te Varua ‘Ori, under the direction of Angela Liava’a, and is currently learning under Kumu Hula Keoni Napueokia'iokalehuakuikalani Chang, from whom she received her Hawaiian name, at Hālau Nā Pua Lehua I Ka Ua Noe in Chino Hills, CA. Her Kumu Hula is under the tutelage of Kumu Hula Nahokuokalani Gaspang, whose hula lineage extends through Kumu Hula George Lanakilakekiahiali'i Na'ope. Combining her two creative passions, art and dance, has cultivated a passionate creative spirit and fueled her pursuit of using her gift to tell impactful stories. In her free time, she loves going to the ocean, walking through gardens, bird-watching, discovering new coffee shops, and spending time with family and friends!
