Rooted in Hawaiʻi. Connected by Culture. United by Aloha.
KAHĀ (Ka ʻAha Hoʻolauna Aloha) is a Native Hawaiian 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserving, sharing, and advancing Hawaiian culture.
We connect communities across Hawaiʻi and the continental United States through cultural education, mentorship, and meaningful experiences that strengthen identity, belonging, and pilina.
Why We Exist
Our Culture. Our Identity. Our Future.
For Native Hawaiians living away from their ancestral home, maintaining connections to language, traditions, and cultural knowledge can be challenging.
KAHĀ exists to bridge that distance, creating opportunities for Hawaiian communities to reconnect with their heritage, learn from cultural practitioners, and build lasting relationships.
We believe Hawaiian culture is not simply something to remember. It is something to live, practice, and pass on.
How We Serve
Building Pilina. Strengthening Community.
KAHĀ brings together kumu, cultural practitioners, kūpuna, youth, families, and community members, welcoming Native Hawaiians and all who are Hawaiian at heart.
Through cultural education, mentorship, scholarships, and community partnerships, we connect people across Hawaiʻi and the continental United States to learn, share, and celebrate Hawaiian traditions.
Our programs include hands-on workshops, cultural gatherings, educational experiences, mentorship, and our annual KAHĀ conference.
Beyond our programs and gatherings, we build lasting relationships that strengthen cultural identity, nurture belonging, and carry ʻike Hawaiʻi forward for generations.
What We Do
Preserving Knowledge. Inspiring Generations.
Through five cultural pathways, KAHĀ creates opportunities to experience and celebrate ʻike Hawaiʻi:
Ola Pono: Hawaiian health, wellness, and holistic well-being.
Hana Noʻeau: Traditional Hawaiian arts and craftsmanship.
ʻIke Hawaiʻi: Hawaiian language, history, and ancestral knowledge.
Hula: Cultural storytelling and expression through traditional and contemporary dance.
Mālama ʻĀina: Hawaiian land stewardship, conservation, and environmental education.
Our programs include hands-on workshops, cultural gatherings, educational experiences, mentorship, and our annual KAHĀ conference.
Our Financial Stewardship
Your Support. Our Kuleana. Shared Impact.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, KAHĀ is committed to responsible financial stewardship, accountability, and transparency.
Grants, donations, sponsorships, and community support help us deliver cultural programs, support practitioners, expand educational opportunities, and strengthen connections across generations.
We believe every contribution carries a responsibility to honor the trust of our supporters and create meaningful, lasting cultural impact.
Our Future
Growing Stronger. Carrying ʻIke Forward.
Our Vision for 2031 is to build a sustainable, culturally grounded organization offering year-round Hawaiian cultural education, meaningful community connections, and opportunities for future generations to learn and lead.
Our goal is not simply to grow larger, but to deepen our impact, strengthen our relationships, and ensure ʻike Hawaiʻi continues to thrive.
